About The Artist Miss Robbie Montgomery was born in Nashville, Tennessee. She was said to be a popular pianist. She appeared on the WSM Grand Ole Opry twice. Once on March 27, 1926 and then again on May 1, 1926. Research shows that she married Carl Rose who was born in Moline, Illinois. They were married at the Vine Street Christian Church in Nashville on May 25, 1926. After their honeymoon at Signal Mountain, Tennessee, the couple moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The wedding write-up noted that she was a "...gifted pianist and Moline friends of the bridegroom have enjoyed listening in when she has broadcast from WSM radio station at Nashville. Mr. Rose was employed by the E. A. Farley company at its Okmulgee store. The couple later moved to Nashville. Her husband had a heart attack while on a business trip to Washington, DC on March 26, 1953 at the age of 51. the couple had four daughters: Rita, Jan, Alice and Julia. He had just been promoted to assistant general manager of Filmsort Corporation of Pearl River, New York. The family planned to move there during the summer. He had worked for RFC (Reconstruction Finance Corporation) for 11 years before joining Filmsort about 18 months before his death. He had been dealing with the heart condition for over six years but had only one previous attack. He was a deacon of the Vine Street Christian Church.
