Harmonica Joe WHO Iowa Barn Dance Frolic

About The Artist His real name was Joe Travis and he was known as "Harmonica Joe" on the WHO Iowa Barn Dance Frolic that aired over radio station WHO out of Des Moines, Iowa. They said he played the harmonica so good, it made folks want to go out and by one themselves. He first made a couple of guest appearances on the show, and the audience reaction was such that they made him a regular cast member the following year. Prior to coming to the Barn Dance Frolic, his earlier career stints included working with Olson and Johnson and also with Borrah Minnevitch's Harmonica Band.
