About The Artist Floyd "Salty" Holmes was a member of the WLS National Barn Dance back in the 1940's. He was also a one time member of the Prairie Ramblers. He was said to be a solemn fellow who could get the audience into spontaneous outbursts of laughter with his comedy talents. He even composed some of the songs he sang. He had a son, Billy Lee, who attended Crane Technical High School in Chicago.
