About The Artist George Morgan was a native of Tennesse, but when he was three years old, the family moved to Ohio. He got his first big break as a singer over radio station WHKK out of Akron, Ohio where he won an amateur contest. George also appeared on stations in Wooster, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia. In 1948, George joined the WSM Grand Ole Opry. He got immediate acceptance with the Opry audiences. Around that time, he formed his own band. The group listed below also helped him with his commercials and his songs. Don't worry, there's more to be found about this hillbilly music legend. Just be patient.
