About The Group

Jim Parks and Johnny Krieter were known as the Utah Playboys. When the duo were discharged from the U. S. Navy in 1949, they came home and found work at radio station KLO over in Ogden, Utah.

Their popularity grew and they were at the station for more than three years. They appeared on stage with such acts as Gene Autry, Tex Ritter, and, Spade Cooley.

As time went by, their personal appearances began to take them all over the western United States, not just the Utah area.

After leaving KLO, they moved up north to the state of Washington. They began to host barn dances over in Clearview, Washington every Friday and Saturday night. They also had their own show over KRKO at 6:15 am every Monday through Friday.
