About The Group

The Campbell Sisters were also known as the "Sagebrush Sweethears" when they were on WMMN in Fairmont, West Virginia. But they were actually natives of Texas.

The family left Texas in 1923 and moved to a farm in the Ohio Valley where they lived until 1928, where once again they moved to Cleveland, Ohio.

A 1940 magazine article includes a mention that they had just joined the staff of WMMN from an unidentified Youngstown, Ohio radio station. The article mentions that one was a blonde, one was a red head and the other was a brunette.

We've seen where there was a similar named group that appeared on a show in Indiana, so, for now, we'll assume they're the same group.
