About The Disc Jockey / Emcee No one likes to follow the first that started a tradition, but it did fall to Walter "Pat" Patterson to follow where Howard Donohoe left. The Jamboree continued to grow and Pat kept the listeners with his friendly personality and even had a fine singing voice. He moved on to other fields, per the 1942 WWVA Jamboree song folio, but '...left an indelible something that speaks as a silent partner to those who carry on.'
