About The Artist

Hurshul Clothier and his Oklahoma Travers enjoyed a reputation as one of the leading dance bands in the southwest.

In 1955, they were appearing daily over radio station KSIW out of Woodward, Oklahoma, which is a bit northwest of Oklahoma City.

They also worked at KGEO, a television station in Enid, Oklahoma - due north of Oklahoma City.

On Saturday nights, Hurshul and the gang were appearing in Arnett, Oklahoma at was said to be the biggest dance event in the western part of the state.

As you might expect, they made numerous personal appearances. They were entertaining fans in Southern kansas, the Texas panhandle area and western Oklahoma.
