About The Artist

Her name was Louise Massey Mabie, but was called Louise Massey. She performed with the group called the Westerners. Grew up with her family on a ranch in New Mexico. Said to have been riding the range at an age when most girls were just learning to stand up on their roller skates.

They said she knew how to handle a rope and had won several prizes in fancy riding at southwestern rodeo events.
