About The Artist Don Fields and the Pony Boys appear to have been a group that played mainly on the east coast in the mid to late 1940s based on our research so far. In 1946, two publications of the era covering happenings in the New England area mention that Don and his group were airing over radio station WDEV out of Waterbury, Vermont and were there most of 1946.
