About The Artist

J. B. Ham and the Sons of the South seem to have primarily played in the Northeast and Canadian regions based on our research so far. In late 1949, they were said to have toured the Canadian provinces during one summer season.

In November 1946, a short mention indicates they were a new group at WLBZ in Bangor, Maine.

An early 1949 article mentions they had played throughout the New England states area. At that time, they were holding fort at CKBW in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia in Canada. The article further notes that J. B. Ham was originally from North Carolina.
