About The Artist
Cal Shrum was a native of Missouri. He got his start at radio station KOA out of Denver, Colorado. Later, he moved to Hollywood, California and started working in films at Republic Studios in 1939 and by 1946, had appeared in over 50 western movies. At the time, he had his own record label, the Westernair Records label which distributed not only his songs, but others, but they didn't mention any. Carl was married to Alta Lee, who was a singer in his show at the time.
