About The Artist
Homer Spangler led a group called the Hocking Valley Boys that worked out of radio station WAOK in Lancaster, Ohio in the middle 1950's. Homer also hosted and emceed the Saturday night show, "Hocking Valley Barn Dance" at 6:30pm as well. The show apparently originated in 1951. Unfortunately, the article we found do not provide much other details about Homer's career. The article does make mention that the show had a unique trio of musicians - three eleven-year old steel guitar players—Venton Roby, Donald Lisk, and Frank Edgeton.
