Paul “Tex” W. Regan, age 82 of Ashland, OH., passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Samaritan Regional Health System Hospital. On December 2, 1929 in Kipling, OH., Mr. Regan was born to the late John D. and Nellie (Kucik) Regan.

He had been a resident of Ashland Co. since 1950 and retired from the Faultless Rubber Co. in 1985.

He was a musician and former announcer at WNCO where he introduced Country Western music to the radio station.

Mr. Regan was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church where he provided music, served as an alter server, and Eucharist minister.

On June 10, 1950 Mr. Regan married Shirley Shinabarker who preceded him in death August 10, 2009.

Surviving Mr. Regan are two sons and spouses: Joe and Tracy Regan of West Salem, OH., Jim and Shari Regan of Ashland; three daughters and spouses: Vicki and Dan Gongwer of Jeromesville, OH., Paula and Don Long of Kilbuck, OH., Peggy and Andrew McClure of Ashland, OH.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Regan was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John and Tom Regan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Monday, May 21, 2012, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 501 Cottage St., Ashland, OH., with Father Rod Kreidler officiating. Interment will be at the Dickey Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, OH.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church Building Fund, 501 Cottage St., Ashland, OH., 44805 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
