About the Group About The Group Tony and Juanita were a popular duo back east in the Maine area in the 1940s. We found some notes in Juanita's obituary that give us a few details. They appeared on radio stations WGAN and WCSH in Portland. She retired in 1963. Juanita's real name was Juanita Labanara and was married to Joseph Labanara in Portland at the time of her death; she was buried in Ft. Payne, Alabama. She died when a fire broke out in their house. Juanita died on July 20, 1978.
