About the Group

About The Group

This group was with WLS in 1936 when we found them in an old WLS Family Album. They do not appear to be the same Hometowners group that we found mentioned in a 1957 Country Song Roundup magazine that had them on WLW's Midwestern Hayride. They may have been similar perhaps to the Hoosier Hot Shots group as they mentioned this group '...also plays funny tunes on funny instruments.' The smallest member of the group they said was William Racherbaumer and they said he had a big booming bass voice.
