About The Group

A short article in a 1956 magazine tells us the group was working on the Houston Jamboree show that aired over KNUZ in Houston. The band got their start on the Grand Prize Jamboree that was hosted by Biff Collie and heard over KPRC in Houston back then.

Other members of the group back then were Hank Fannin on the fiddle and Fred Wilson on the banjo (Fred was said to be from Arkansas).

The band was also known for writing and playing their own material as well as the big hits of the day for fans.

Recently we learned that a member of the band, Dock Cook, passed away on Valentine's Day in 2011 in Madisonville, Texas. Dock wsa born in Townley, Alabama to Wilburn and Vera (Anderson) Cook. Dock and his wife Marie, moved to Texas after they were married. He worked for Powell Electric for about 20 years before retiring.
