The Cascade Hillbillies

About The Group

The Cascade Hillbillies got organized in October of 1951 and were quite popular all over the state of Washington. On July 4, 1952, the band began a successful run at a popular night spot called "Kinney's Barn Dance". They usually played to capacity crowds there of about 600 people, week after week.

Betty-Lou Steele was their lead female vocalist of the group and one of its headliners. It appears she played the accordion, too. It was said that her father, husband and son were also western entertainers.

The band had a show on KRKO out of Everett, Washington also.
