The Dean Brothers
WLS National Barn Dance

About The Group

Jimmie and Eddie Dean, came to WLS in 1934 as the Dean Brothers from radio station KNAX in South Dakota, though they were originally from Texas.

They sang the 'quiet, sweet old songs and ballads of a quarter century ago' (back in 1935 anyhow). And were known to break out into a comedy number every once in a while. They'd often drop back into the Southern dialect that came to them naturally and would sometimes perform in black-face as part of a minstrel show performance.
