About the Disc Jockey / Emcee Howard was the old friend of WWVA listeners. He was the announcer on that first WWVA Jamboree broadcast on January 7, 1933. A 1942 WWVA Jamboree Song Folio noted that the Jamboree's first Master of Ceremonies "...left a memory which live(d) in the hearts of his many WWVA friends.
