About The Artist Anthony J. (Bud) Dicarlo was born in Benwood, West Virginia. We first learned of him from an old Jake Taylor and His Railsplitters Log Book that from the biography for Bud indicates it was published in 1938. Bud told fans in that old booklet that he started playing the accordion in 1933 and his first instrument was a twenty four bass accordion. Bud indicated that he had worked with another WWVA act prior to joining Jake Taylor's group. He also noted that enjoyed the real friendliness he found in Jake's group members.
