About The Artist

Dee Clark was born Doris A. Clark in Albany, New York. She started singing and entertaining audiences when she was just thirteen years of age.

Her popularity was such that when she was 25 years old, the WWVA World's Original Jamboree originating from the Capitol Theatre in in Wheeling, West Virginia invited her to join the cast.

In the early 1970s, she began doing other radio work, joining the staff of WOKO in Albany.

Later, she and her husband, Dr. Jay Richards, also a radio personality, purchased and worked at two radio stations in Pennsylvania - WBLF in State College and WLYC in Williamsport.

She and her husband also worked as radio hosts on WGNA in Albany as well as WBUG and WRUN in Utica, New York. Her most recent radio work had been done at WJJL in West Seneca, New York.
