About The Artist

To date, we've only found a single mention of Tommy (Clem) Freas and his Melody Ranch Boys. Back in 1954 or so, the group was entertaining the listening audience on radio station WPTS out of Pittston, Pennsylvania.

CLem organized the group and based on a fan contacting us and telling us that Clem was still around in Pittston, we might assume Clem didn't roam around from radio station to radio station like many artists of that era.

Back in 1954, there were on every Saturday morning over WPTS from 11:15am to 12:00 noon; the show had both local and national sponsors.

The group was known to do many personal appearances in the regional area and would often feature other young talents in addition to their normal band.

The Melody Ranch Boys included "Cowboy Bert", "Curly", "Shirly Lee", "Cranberry Joe", "Hank" as well as Tommy (Clem) Freas.
