About The Artist Folks came to know him as "The Earl of Country Music" to the fans in Indiana. Earl Hoover was from Muncie, Indiana and his early career found him entertaining the folks over the local station, WLBC. Uncle Bob spotted this talent and eventually Earl became a member of the famed Hayloft Frolic troupe and television show. On the Frolic show, he was seen as the "Front man" - singer and rhythm guitarist. Uncle Bob notes he was "...always an audience pleaser; he opened each show with a strong uptempo number followed by a familiar country music ballad." Like most members of the show, he toured with the Hayloft Frolic throughout southern Indiana and eastern Illinois. In 1957 and 1958, Earl joined the rest of the Hayloft Frolic gang as they proudly toured Japan, Korea and Germany, entertaining the United Nations forces. Some folks develop passions for such things as golf, politics or sports cars. For Earl, it was Country Music that he lived and breathed for. He had a deep respect for the music and especially the artists who performed it. Earl also loved his family as much if not more as he loved country music. Earl has left the earthly stage and his voice and guitar are being heard on a new stage. Credits & Sources
