About The Artist

Jack Rogers was said to be able to sing 'exactly like Gene Autry'. Jack started his radio career working with various bands in the central states of Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia.

For the few years just before 1947, he had been working on Cincinnati, Ohio stations with the famous "Tacoma Barn Dance Boys and Girls" (that later were under the banner of "Thunder Bay River Boys") under the management of Walter Sweet.

But 1947 found him in Hollywood, California. He was on his own by then. He said he had his own group at one time, the "Modern Pioneers". He had also worked on various radio stations such as WLW, WHIO, WSAZ, WHDH, etc. He had cut a few records on the King record label including "In Shady Brook Lane", "After All These Years", "You Done Me Wrong", which were said to have been published by the American Music, Inc. publishers.

In 1947, he was working at the Silver Spur in Los Angeles with a fellow named Leon Rusk. THey collaborated on a few tunes which Leon was said to be ready to record on the King label.
