About The Artist

Larry Cassidy was known in the Los Angeles area as "The Singin' Cop" and was playing numerous spots in Southern California. In 1949, they named him and his band to play at Uncle Dave Ming's 97th Street Corral during the absence of Tommy Duncan's Western All-Stars.

In the works at the time was a plan to do remote broadcasts from the Corral for radio station KXLA in Pasadena. The plans called for them to be done three times weekly from 8:30 to 9:00pm.
