About The Artist It was noted that Happy Ison started his career as an actor for the legendary station WLW in Cincinnatio, Ohio while he was still in high school. His career took him to radio station WVOW over in Logan, West Virginia. Back in 1952, Ethel Young of Marmet, West Virginia was president of his fan club. By 1954, Happy's career seemed to have taken him to Florida according to Pee Wee King's column. He wrote a small regional round-up column for Cowboy Songs that covered activities in Florida, but he did not mention the station he worked for. An internet radio history site indicates it was WORZ in Orlando, Florida. That makes sense as Happy was talking of recent shows in the Orlando area in his 1954 column. Credits & Sources
