Joe Marshall
and his Rovin' Ramblers
WKCT Bowling Green, KY
WLJB Bowling Green, KY

About The Artist

We first found mention of Joe Marshall and his Rovin' Ramblers in a 1946 magazine column called "The Mail Box" that claimed it was edited by someone named "R.F. Dee". That column seemed to be a place where some of the regional or local acts could write a bit of publicity about themselves and you'd usually find a picture of them elsewhere in the magazine. That 'column' would run for several pages, too! But enough about that, let's learn what his station manager wrote about Joe.

Joe and his group were a popular act in Southern Kentucky back in 1946, being heard over WLBJ in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They played the normal amount of personal appearances and also helped the war effort by playing the bond rallies, USO shows and other similar venues as many entertainers did back then.

Joe Marshall and his Rovin' Ramblers shared the stage on shows with stars from the Grand Ole Opry and the Renfro Valley Barn Dance.
