About The Artist Little Joe Powell was a popular act that played over WDYK in Cumberland, MD back in the early 1950s. He was said to have a 'great big voice'. He was one of WDYK's favorite performers at that time along with Hap Dennison's Mt. City Ramblers. They said Little Joe got his start singing in the army and also spent countless hours entertaining the patients in the Army Veteran's hospital. Credits & Sources
