About The Artist Rosalie Maphis got her start in show business back about in 1938 or so. She was born near Baltimore, Maryland on a farm. Early on in her career she worked at KMOX in St. Louis as part of a group called the "Saddle Sweethearts". She also worked on the WRVA Old Dominion Barn Dance. The five foot five singer was married to Joe Maphis and they lived in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles for many years. They were married in the early 1950s.
