About The Artist
Evan Kemp was got his start singing on the radio when he was eight years old up in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. He appeared with Pat "Buster" Morgan over CJOR. From there, he appeared on other stations in the Vancouver area includinig CKWX, CKMO, CKNW and CJOR. In 1955, he was doing disc jockey work over at CKMO on a daily show that ran from 4:00pm to 5:00pm that was called the "Circle T.R. Ranch House". Evan Kemp also appeared every Thursday night at 9:30pm on the "Ole Buckskin Opry" that was also on CKMO. The show was said to be a half hour show that included personal appearances from visiting artists. Evan was said to be the 'top hand' of the Trail Riders group that was pretty popular in British Columbia. He recorded on the RCA Victor and Aragon record labels.
