Baxter Bevell and the Boys from the Hills were one of the first acts to appear on WBLE out of Batesville, Mississippi went it first went on the air on June 1, 1953. They had a regular Saturday afternoon stint from 1:00 to 2:00pm. The brief article we found mentions that Baxter was also a songwriter. Mention was made that Wiley Gann and Wayne Rodgers did the duet numbers, with Wiley doing the tenor parts.
