Janie Davids
KXLA Pasadena, CA

About The Artist

The only mention we've found so far of Janie Davids is from a 1953 publication. She was a teenager then - all of 18 years old but had been singing in various amateur contests. She had a nightly television program over KECA, Channel 7 then. She was with Foreman Phillips and then Ada Leonard's show for a time, too.

They said she got her start when she was just 15 years old, playing the guitar and singing, - appearing on the Carl "Squeakin' Deacon" Moore show over KXLA out of Pasadena with Anna May. Anna May was only thirteen at the time herself and had her own television show then, too on NBC on Monday nights.

They said the girls got together once in a while to compare notes since they both had their own shows.
