About The Artist

Jewell House seemed to confuse fans - some thought she was a guy. And as a result, was said to have gotten some rather amusing fan mail over time.

She was a singer and songwriter. In the early 1950s, she was performing with a local string band on the "Four States Jamboree" that was heard over radio station KCMC in Texarkana, Texas.
