About The Artist

C. C. "Socko" Sokolosky was a member of The Louisiana Hayride from 1950 until about late summer (July/August) of 1954. He played the accordion and harmonica. He as a regular member of The Louisiana Hayride "house band" that included such talents as Floyd Cramer, DJ Fontana, Tillman Franks, Buddy Attaway, Felton Pruitt, Don Davis and Dobber Johnson.

Socko also was a member of a comedy group that frequently appeared on the Hayride — "Buddy Attaway and the Lump Lump Boys". The group or ensemble did regular comedy skits on the show.

Socko got to back up all of the great country stars that got their career started on The Hayride in the early 1950s.
