About The Artist Martha Lawson was a tall, attractive brunette from Fort Worth, Texas. She started on the legendary KWKH Louisiana Hayride in 1951. She was a featured act for more than two years on the show. She was known for her yodeling expetise. Some of the tunes fans would request would be songs like "He Taught Me To Yodel", "Yodel Polka" and other tunes that her fans couldn't get enough of. She was married to another famed hillbilly singer, Carl Story and had one child. She moved back to 'Cow Town' as they called Fort Worth which meant she couldn't be a regular on the Hayride, but she still made guest appearances on the show. Credits & Sources
